Paint me love
Pluck the sunset from on high
Make brushes from the clouds
Winds and sunlight from the sky

Paint me rage
Pull the earth from down below
Draw in sharp and hateful edges
Penned from feathers of a crow

Paint me hope
Bubbling up from some lagoon
Bright green emerald warming waters
Stealing luster from the moon

At last – paint me life
Colors too vivid for me to see
My words and writing are too crude
To honor this beauty you’ve offered me
