The abyss staring back
Pooling with thick onyx knowledge
On baited breath we plummet
At the bottom is there some grand secret?
A glistening treasure in the black sea?
Some incomprehensible glory?
Or perhaps the abyss narrows to an apex
Such that we sould become crushed
As we slide closer, clawing at the walls
Nothing more than animals
Once imprisoned below
We strain our necks in vain
Hoping to see below our feet
But unable to truly see the point
