Her face is stern and focused
Permitting an infrequent glimmer of joy
A courtesy to those who pry

Though never a hostile glace
As she is a determined monarch
Greeting her beloved lessers

For could one feel as potent
As to rival the shining stars
Shimmering behind her eyes

Eyes below a furrowed brow
As she muses on some ancient words
Thirsty for the knowledge devalued by time

Her face should be made immortal
In pale marble free of blemish
So that we might see cognition once more

Though stoic and focused
There exists an persistent glow
Drawing me closer

Would I be worthy
To see her rigid face turn to me
Soften, and offer a revelation
With which to understand passion
