Icarus died for the call of the heavens
But was it the light which killed him
One is tied to the earth through breath
Blood, nature, and flesh
Perhaps icarus was bound below
Rather than immolated above
Form tied him to a post
Entrails as a tether
So as he rose to the sky
The sharp snap pulled him back
Now left to tumble down
Free of his tether but robbed of his wings
As he lies in his own gore
Empty and broken
The last thing he sees is the darkening sun
