I never felt more hopeless
Than when I saw her skin
As she pulled up her sleeves
Eyes shackled to the floor

Arms absent of tattoos
Fond memories cast in ink
But littered with hardships
Greedy leaving their mark

Damn the mind
For invading the corporeal
Its dark recesses staining
The spirit and the blade

Confound the mind
For all its intricities
Which bound my own wrists
From protecting hers

Her body walks beside me
Chanting agonized thoughts
Pursuing like bats
Hidden in the silhouettes of tall trees

I cannot help her
Cannot cinch her arc
For it would trap us in a circle
Stranded tougether
Left to such merciless minds
