I Know

The raindrops fall cold
But settle warm
Nestled in my collarbone
When domestic breath turns to sigh –
Down they glide
Feeling like nuzzling hands.
But they lack the weight that makes it real
And I know the rain,
Despite how it makes me feel

Map

That crease above her brow
From squinting while she reads
That rougish little smile
When facetiously she pleads
All these curves and bends and alleyways
Her captivating lead
I could map her every detail
To a map I wouldn’t need

Biodegrading

Biodegrading

Oversimplification
Claiming that love is some hormone addiction
A chemical fission
Not alchemic ambition
Turning words into gold
With no worldly condition

Biodegrading

Entrapped in rotation
Like the sun and the moon
And the ocean’s migration
Envious flicker
Green flash of constriction
Binding my heart to this ancient depiction
Of petals collapsing
And pupils relaxing
And rise from the ashes
Degradation relapsing

Missis

I misremember some fine notes
Remiss in adoration
Miss remembering some fine lies
Oh, those dishonest admissions

Objectivity remisses
Disbelief often dismisses
All these fragment thoughts, ambitious
As they satisfy these wishes

Missing the points of promises
Inaccurate, the mind merely misses
Misremembering a mistress
As my one and only missis
